Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to destroy Connor Goldson for his display in the 1-0 defeat to Hamilton.

Steven Gerrard's side suffered their second successive defeat on Wednesday evening, succumbing to a loss against a team who are just two points off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership - to make matters worse, it was at Ibrox in front of their own supporters.

Ianis Hagi struck the crossbar and James Tavernier missed an open goal, although it was one second-half moment which saw Rangers concede the game's only goal, with Goldson a huge culprit.

After Tavernier left the ball for the better-placed Goldson to clear, the former Brighton centre-back dallied in possession which allowed David Moyo to steal in and slide the ball past Allan McGregor.

To make his own display all the more shambolic, the 27-year-old also missed a glaring opportunity to score with his head, firing it well off target.

The result means that Gerrard's men are now 13 points behind Celtic after Neil Lennon's side drew 2-2 with Livingston on Wednesday evening.

Let's see what the Rangers fans on Twitter have been saying about Goldson's performance...

To kick off the reaction, two fans said that they hope they never see the centre-back in a Rangers shirt ever again, whereas another called Craig said that he cannot stand the former Shrewsbury Town defender.

Given that things were already difficult at Ibrox after Gerrard questioned his players' commitment following a defeat to Hearts on Saturday, the last thing the club needed was for Goldson to mess up so significantly and cause another defeat.

Elsewhere, Andy said that the player should never set foot in Ibrox again.

He was also called "utterly useless" and also branded by another fan named Andy as the worst defender he's ever seen in his life.

Having made 49 appearances for the Gers this term, Goldson is clearly valued highly by Gerrard - however, it might be time to reconsider his place in the starting XI judging by these supporters' reactions.
