Their season is barely over but Rangers are already dipping their toes in the transfer market, confirming the signing of midfielder Scott Arfield on Monday.
At face value it’s a shrewd signing by the Light Blues, who are in dire need of midfield improvement if they are going to challenge for the major honours in Scottish football next season.
It’s the first of what could be many transfers this summer as incoming boss Steven Gerrard looks to put his own stamp on the squad at Ibrox.
Another name that has been linked with a move to Glasgow is John McGinn, with reports surfacing last week that Gerrard had sent scouts to take in his performance in the recent Edinburgh derby.
That follows on from reported interest from Celtic in January.
The 23-year-old Scotland international is believed to have significant potential and looks set for a move away from Hibernian regardless of his destination.
Should Rangers try and beat Celtic to the punch sign him this summer?
