Kyle Lafferty one of 15 new signings made by Rangers in the summer following the appointment of Steven Gerrard as manager.

The 31-year-old made the move from Hearts for a second spell at Ibrox and he made an immediate impression by netting twice on his debut in a 3-3 draw with Motherwell.

Since then, Gerrard has been managing the forward's time on the pitch as Lafferty has started only three Scottish Premiership matches and has come off the bench in a further three.

This weekend it has been confirmed that the former Norwich City player will not be eligible to feature against Hamilton.

The Irish FA invoked FIFA's five-day rule after Lafferty withdrew from Northern Ireland's Nations League squad, claiming that he had an Achilles injury.

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reactions to the news that Gerrard will be unable to call on the forward this weekend.

The Gers are currently sixth in the league table, five points adrift of leaders Hearts after eight games.
