The Athletic’s Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell has showered Joe Aribo in praise following the 1-0 win over Ross County.
The former Charlton player – who arrived at Ibrox for £300k back in the summer – has made 46 appearances in all competitions for the Gers this season, scoring nine goals and registering eight assists.
Against Ross County, the Nigeria international shone – so much so that it wasn’t just Campbell who was impressed by him, as a number of supporters on Twitter also expressed their admiration for his display.
It was crucial that somebody stepped up and showed bravery in possession after a turbulent week for the club, in which Steven Gerrard questioned his players’ commitment as the Scottish giants sunk to back-to-back defeats.
At just 23 years of age, some may not have expected that person to be Aribo, although the London-born attacker certainly stepped up to the mantle.
You can see Campbell’s glowing comments in full below:
Aribo the one player driving forward with the ball, committing players. It doesn’t always come off but when you’re looking for leadership and a strong mentality then wanting the hall and being aggressive on it is what you need. Not just shouting at people.
