Rangers suffered a potentially fatal setback in their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening as Bayer Leverkusen recorded a 3-1 win at Ibrox.
Three away goals and a two goal margin have put the Bundesliga outfit in cruise control but it remains to be seen when the second leg will be played.
In the absence of Ryan Jack, Steven Gerrard opted for a midfield trio of Scott Arfield, Steven Davis and Glenn Kamara.
So far this season, the latter has struggled to emulate the level of form that made him such a celebrated figure in the early stages of his Rangers career.
But his display in Europe on Thursday night earned him plenty of praise, with one supporter suggesting it was his best display in a Rangers shirt for quite some time.
Another, meanwhile, suggested he was the only one trying to force the issue…
Thought Kamara was outstanding last night before he came off. We barely put a foot wrong 1st half, pen is unfortunate but they will always be given with VAR. 2nd half we had a go and I thought we were gonna nick a draw. Onto Sunday Rangers 👊🏼💙🇬🇧

Kamara was the only one trying to produce anything from the midfield. He drew free kicks and tried to get us up the pitch. One of the better performers

Glen Kamara had his best game in a Rangers shirt for months

One fan, however, did not feel he convinced throughout the entirety of proceedings, suggesting he was back to his best for one half only.
Best half you mean

But fans were not unanimous in their assessment as others offered scathing views on his contribution.
One suggested that he wasn’t confident enough in showing for the ball and wasn’t ambitious enough with his distribution.
Another was much more damning and suggested he shouldn’t even be in the starting XI.
Kamara has super glue stuck to the bottom of his boots. Barely ever shows for the balls and dances on the spot with the inevitable back pass. Empty jersey.

Davis, Kamara, Edmundson should be nowhere near this Rangers team! Kamberi the only one that looks like he actually wants to play for us!

Glen kamara should not be in a Rangers shirt, one of the worst players on our team fact!

Because Kent, Kamara & Tav have been virtually non-existent.

As is so often the case with football, Kamara put in a truly divisive performance against Leverkusen.
