According to a report by The Daily Record, Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could soon be the subject of an £8million offer from French club Nice.
Well, despite Gers manager Steven Gerrard being adamant, according to quotes via Sky Sports, that the 22-year-old “won’t be going anywhere”, The Daily Record report that Nice are ready to make their move for the £1omillion-rated player.
Patrick Vieira’s side are expected to lose Mario Balotelli this month according to The Daily Record and, as a result, are searching for a potential replacement.
The report adds that the France and Arsenal legend has identified the South American as the centre-forward he wants, which is hardly surprising given he has scored 20 goals and provided a further 10 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants this season, as per Transfermarkt.
Rangers and Gerrard seem determined to maintain their stance that Morelos is going nowhere, and it is hardly a surprise given they look to have a real chance of winning the Scottish Premiership title ahead of arch-rivals Celtic this term.
Despite the addition of Jermain Defoe earlier this month, as reported by BBC Sport, there is no doubt that losing the striker would be a catastrophic blow.
Rangers will be hoping that a transfer request or a change of attitude doesn’t arrive, and that the player intends to stay at least until the summer to try and make history at Ibrox.
