Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will be hoping that the board back him in January to bring in a goalscorer, and the perfect move could be a loan deal for his own cousin and Liverpool academy prospect Bobby Duncan.

What's the situation?

Rangers slipped to second in the Scottish Premier League on Wednesday evening as they drew 0-0 with Hibernian and their failure to break the deadlock highlighted once again the lack of firepower available to Gerrard.

Of course, Alfredo Morelos has been in scintillating form so far this season, netting 17 goals in 31 games. However, when the Colombian international is either missing or off form, Gerrard only has Kyle Lafferty to call on as a direct replacement.

A striker then should be a priority in the winter transfer window, and chairman Dave King could make his manager extremely happy with a move for Liverpool youngster Duncan.

Former Wigan & Fulham man, Jimmy Bullard recently showed that he's still got it! Check out the video below...

Goalscoring sensation

After signing for the Liverpool academy from Manchester City in the summer, Duncan has scored an incredible 19 goals in all competitions, proving that despite being just 17 years of age he is surely too good to be playing youth team football.

The England U17 international has already trained with Jurgen Klopp's first team this season, but it is surely too soon for him to be getting a call-up given Liverpool's current league position. A loan move away then would allow him the chance to experience competitive senior football and find his feet.

This would surely be a deal worth doing for Rangers too, especially as Duncan is related to Gerrard and the former Liverpool legend has already shown his willingness to sign Reds players on loan.

So, Rangers fans, would you support a move for Duncan in January? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
