Rangers announced their sixth signing of the summer on Wednesday afternoon, confirmed that Brighton & Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson had made the switch to Ibrox.

The defender joins on a four-year deal and arrives just days after the Light Blues also added Croatian defensive prospect Nikola Katic to their first team squad also.

The defensive line is a huge priority for the Ibrox side this summer given their woes at the back last season, conceding more goals than any of the other sides that finished in the top six on the Scottish Premiership.

Goldson has been a bit part player at the Premier League side recently but brings physicality and pace to the back four and should have more than enough ability to compete well across the border.

Supporters are certainly excited by his potential next season, with some believing he can also bring some leadership to the starting eleven.

Is a partnership of Katic and Goldson set to be fruitful for the Gers next term?
