New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard announced the five-man backroom staff that will be joining him at Ibrox on Thursday, ahead of his first week at Auchenhowie.
📝 #RangersFC are today delighted to announce Gary McAllister, Michael Beale, Tom Culshaw, Jordan Milsom and Colin Stewart as Steven Gerrard’s backroom team.

Four of the five appointments have Liverpool connections.
New assistant manager Gary McAllister played alongside the Anfield legend in the early 2000s, also coaching at the club when Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers was in charge.
First team coach Michael Beale is a highly-rated individual who worked with Liverpool’s U23s side readying young talent for the first team before moving to Sao Paolo to become assistant manager there.
Gerrard has also brought his assistant from the Liverpool U18s set-up, Tom Culshaw, to be Rangers’ new technical coach, as well as the lead fitness coach for Liverpool’s U23s side, Jordan Milsom.
Colin Stewart will remain the Light Blues’ goalkeeping coach, completing the new Rangers boss’ staff.
Rangers supporters are excited by all of the appointments, believing it gives the club a great chance of competing for the major honours in Scottish football next season.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on it all…
Rangers won’t make many better signings than Michael Beale.

He has a wealth of experience at contrasting massive clubs, was ambitious and courageous enough to move to Sao Paolo to coach and he will bring a fresh ideas and approach along with the rest of the staff SG has brought in….can only be a positive move for us !👍👍

Followed this mans career with great admiration for a while. Heard nothing but great things about Beale’s impact at clubs and passion for youth development. A really positive hire by Rangers. #LetsGo https://t.co/yS3hz5MgDl

Steven Gerrard’s backroom staff looks a very solid unit. Michael Beale is apparently a very good coach. Hopefully we’ll see the fitness levels much improved this year too, I felt last season we toiled in certain games and looked knackered.

I believe Gerrard will be building something great here. Watch out Celtic.

From what I've read, the appointment of Michael Beale is hugely significant and a major coup for Gerrard. Exciting! https://t.co/6oHvyXz194
