Rangers have extended their search for a new manager at Ibrox after Derek McInnes decided to stay at Aberdeen.

The Light Blues confirmed on Thursday evening that they'll be persisting with Graeme Murty as interim boss until the end of December, meaning the U20s coach will be in charge for another six matches at least.

There are some tricky encounters in that period with matches against Hibernian, Motherwell and a derby clash away to Celtic all to come before 2018.

Despite Rangers' fans unhappiness with how the situation has been handled, the majority seem happy to back Murty in the short-term, having been impressed with how he's handled the challenge so far.

With big victories against Aberdeen under his belt, he now has the chance to do something against Ross County that Pedro Caixinha never managed when boss of the club and that's winning three matches in a row.
