Rangers will travel to Livingston in an all-Premiership tie in the League Cup quarter-finals, and the supporters are furious they'll have to play on an artificial pitch again.

Steven Gerrard's men earned their place in the last eight of the League Cup thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win over third-tier East Fife on Sunday.

Goals from Jermain Defoe, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo gave the Light Blues a comfortable passage through to the quarter-finals and a trip to the Tony Macaroni.

The draw hasn't gone down well with the fans for the simple reason of Livi having an astroturf pitch, a surface that doesn't necessarily suit the style of football Gerrard wants his Gers side to play.

As well as suiting Gary Holt's side's more direct style of play, the Ibrox faithful are fearful of synthetic surfaces, and for good reason. Jamie Murphy picked up a season-ending injury in August 2018 at Rugby Park, which has a similar surface to Almondvale.
