Greg Docherty is back in a Rangers shirt and the supporters are delighted to see him again.

The 22-year-old spent last season out on loan at League One side Shrewsbury and has impressed Steven Gerrard enough to give him another chance at Ibrox. The midfielder got 10 goals and a further 11 assists in his 50 Shrewsbury games which was enough for him to earn his first-team recall.

Docherty started in the Gers' 6-0 win over St. Joseph's on Thursday and he set up a couple of goals. The first round Europa League tie was a breeze for Gerrard's men, winning the encounter 10-0 on aggregate against the Gibraltans.

Docherty has seen competition for his favoured central midfield role increase since he was last at the club. Gerrard has brought in Steve Davis and Joe Aribo to add to an already strong area of the park.

Docherty posted on Twitter following the 6-0 victory and Rangers fans were quick to follow up with a series of positive responses...
