Rangers fans are pleased to hear winger Glenn Middleton could be heading out on loan next season.
The Scottish Sun have reported this week that he’s set to join English League One side Doncaster Rovers due to Steven Gerrard’s inability to guarantee him first-team football next term.
How much money could you make busking for a week as a freestyle footballer? Find out in the video below…
The youngster made 28 appearances last season but played just a handful of times after the winter break, with his opportunities drying up as Ryan Kent became more and more important to the team.
With Jordan Jones also arriving on the left flank this summer, he’s fallen further down the pecking order but will now be given the opportunity to shine in English League One.
Rangers supporters obviously want to see him succeed and believe he has the ability to grab his opportunity with both hands at Doncaster.
The hope will be from their perspective that he can prove himself to Gerrard and begin to make regular appearances in 2020/21.
These fans have taken to Twitter this week to share their thoughts on the potential exit…
I think this is the right thing for the player. Hopefully he benefits from regular first team football, shines like Docherty did at Shrewsbury and returns to Rangers an improved player ready to stake a claim in the first team.

I honestly see him going down there and smashing it. Some of the goals he was scoring at the end of the season for the reserves were world class. Needs to play more centrally, his eye for goal is a gift

I’m sure he would benefit from game time and a confidence boost.

Highly talented player in there hopefully by getting game time he’ll come back a more consistent player.

Callum McGregors move to Northampton worked wonders for him, ali’s move to MK even more so. Sometimes you need to take that step back a bit to move forward. Here’s hoping Docherty proves that theory this season coming

Realistically is a championship club going to sign a 19 year old from Scotland to be a regular starter? This will be a good move for him and we’ve seen with Docherty that league 1 can develop our players

A season on loan somewhere will do him the world of good. Wise decision I say.
