Rangers fans bash Flanagan’s Europa League performance

Loads of Rangers fans have been bashing Jon Flanagan’s performance on Thursday, as the former Liverpool defender struggled in the 1-0 win.

The Gers’ new era under Steven Gerrard continued its positive start on Thursday night, grabbing an away goal against Osijek and keeping that all important clean sheet.

Alfredo Morelos scored the winner, muscling a defender out of the way to find enough space to flick a header home in the first half.

While much of the reaction to the game has been positive, plenty of fans are concerned about the performance of Flanagan.

The 25 year-old shot to stardom in the 2013-14 season with Liverpoo, but was never able to find his form again after the Reds fell short of the title.

He is a no-nonsense defender, but he’s not particularly athletic, and his ball playing ability leaves plenty to be desired.

While the clean sheet in Croatia is a huge boost for the Gers going into the home leg, fans were not impressed by Flanagan, so it looks this is one Gerrard move that could backfire.
