Rangers fans believe Murty got it all wrong against Kilmarnock on Saturday

Rangers suffered a damaging defeat against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, losing 1-0 at Ibrox thanks to former striker Kris Boyd’s second half effort.

Graeme Murty’s side were again below their best in a home game this season, struggling to break down Steve Clarke’s determined and tactically well set-up outfit.

The pressure is now mounting on Murty, just weeks removed from an impressive winning run. The defeat means that third-placed Aberdeen move two points behind with a game in hand, while league leaders Celtic remain nine points ahead having played two games less.

Fans believe the interim Rangers boss got many decisions wrong ahead of and during the match.

Many feel the failure to play top scoring striker Alfredo Morelos from the start was an error then, when chasing the game, feeling he took too long to bring him on.

Another point of contention was the decision to start Sean Goss up against the impressive and physical Youssouf Mulumbu in midfield.

It’s the second week in a row that the former U20s coach has come unstuck against more experienced managers and it’s leading some to question the club’s long-term future with Murty in charge.
