Rangers' hopes of progression in the Scottish Cup hang in the balance at half-time against Ayr United after goalkeeper Wes Foderingham had a howler of a first half at Somerset Park.

The scores are locked at 1-1 after the Scottish League One side took a shock lead against the Light Blues, before Alfredo Morelos equalised on the half hour mark.

Ayr's goal came through Alan Forrest, who capitalised on Foderingham's poor ball control to prod home from three yards.

It was the kind of goalkeeping error that goes viral or ends up on football bloopers DVDs, the Englishman taking a heavy touch before struggling to clear his lines as the onrushing Forrest showed determination to stick it home.

Time will tell whether it's an error that proves costly, with Rangers still having the second 45 minutes to find the goals to get into the quarter-finals.

Fans were enraged by the error from Foderingham and took to Twitter to share their thoughts...
