Rangers kept their title bid alive with a vital victory over St Johnstone on Sunday.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for Steven Gerrard’s side though, as they struggled to get their game going in the first half and found themselves deservedly a goal down at the break. Things improved in the second half though, and eventually, the Gers’ talismanic striker, Alfredo Morelos, struck.

The 22-year-old pounced once again late on to secure victory for the Glasgow outfit, and ensure that they remained within touching distance of league leaders and reigning champions Celtic.
Morelos is certainly vital to Rangers’ title hopes this season, and the once-capped Colombia international showed his worth once more at the weekend. Gerrard will know that his ability to keep the striker fit, focused and out of trouble could make or break his season.
After the game against St Johnstone, plenty of Gers fans took to Twitter to celebrate Morelos’ huge contribution.

If we sell morelos in January then we’d pretty much be throwing any chance of stopping the tims away, he is far too important to let go mid season, no way he should be sold no matter the price in January

Morelos is priceless at the moment.

Most intriguing thing about Morelos is that for me he’s twice the player he was when he arrived. Hope we get to see him develop further for a couple of years before we cash in on him

Yeah rode our luck. Terrible for 1st half. Looked better when we had 2 strikers, more direct. Morelos is huge for us, dread to think what would be if he wasn’t firing. Changes in Jan I think. Still building.
