Last weekend, some Rangers fans ripped apart captain James Tavernier for his performance against promoted side Livingston.

Steven Gerrard's side suffered a shock 1-0 loss following a lacklustre display at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

On Thursday night, it is safe to say that the Gers bounced back in fine fashion as they executed a win in the Europa League.

The Scottish outfit went 1-0 down to Group G opponents Rapid Wien when Veron Berisha scored in the 42nd minute.

Before the stroke of half-time, Alfredo Morelos equalised and it looked as though the team were going to be taking a point at Ibrox until the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

Tavernier stepped up in the 84th minute to hammer the ball home before Morelos nabbed his second of the evening in the dying seconds to earn a 3-1 triumph for Rangers.

The club captain redeemed himself from last weekend as he created an assist and netted from the spot.

On Twitter, plenty of fans praised the right-back for his contribution.
