Rangers romped to a 7-1 victory at home to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, sending out a statement to the rest of Scottish football that Steven Gerrard's side are very much in the title race.

With Hearts and Celtic both dropping points over the weekend it was vitally important that the Gers pick up all three points and they did that in style against ten-man 'Well.

One of the top performers on the afternoon was teenager Glenn Middleton, who continues to take the chances given to him by Gerrard with aplomb.

He scored and set up another, giving another demonstration of the enormous potential he has at just 18 years of age.

With five goals and three assists so far this season from only three starts, he's also proving to everyone that he's deserving of more regular action in the starting eleven.

He still has a lot of learning to do, but there's certainly plenty to be excited about from a Rangers fan's perspective.
