Rangers have booked a place in the Scottish League Cup final courtesy of a 4-0 win over Ayr United.
Manager Steven Gerrard made a handful of changes to his squad, and there was one man who stood out.
18-year-old Glenn Middleton was included in the team, making his first competitive start.
The Scotland Under-21 international, who stands at 5ft 9in tall and has been capped four times, had made four appearances before Wednesday night’s encounter but all of them were off the bench.
Middleton already had a Premiership goal to his name, but he added two to his overall tally by netting in both halves against Ayr.
The Glasgow-born winger signed for Rangers in January after failing to get game time at Norwich City following his first-team debut in 2017.
It is still early days for Middleton, but after Wednesday’s performance, plenty of supporters are excited about what he will bring to the team as the years go by.
Good lad. Keep going. ?⚪?
