Loads of Rangers fans have been giving their verdict on last night’s performance in Slovenia, and they simply can’t stop talking about Allan McGregor.

Rangers are through to the Europa League play-offs after a 0-0 draw at Maribor, and Steven Gerrard’s quest to improve the spine of the team has once again come up trumps.

The Gers have been incredibly busy in the transfer window, and it’s clear the primary focus was to improve the steel and solidity of the team.

Towering centre backs Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson have both been huge successes, but last night showed just how important it is to have an experienced goalkeeper behind the relatively young centre back pairing.

McGregor, who made over 200 league appearances in his first stint with the club, signed on a two-year contract earlier this summer, and his performance on Thursday showed the capture was another stroke of genius form Gerrard and the club.

The 6 ft 0 ace commanding his team all night, made one particularly incredible save to deny Marcos Tavares from close range, and capped the night off with a stoppage time penalty stop.

Fans are loving Gerrard’s start to life at Ibrox, and judging from the Twitter reactions down below McGregor might just be his best signing of all…
