Rangers managed to thump St. Joseph’s of Gibraltar 4-0 in their first competitive match of the 2019/20 season on Tuesday.
Goals from Ryan Jack, Sheyi Ojo, Borna Barisic and Alfredo Morelos delivered the victory that will surely see them through to the next round of UEFA Europa League qualifying, with a second leg due to be played at Ibrox next week.
The fans in the video below had some very strong words for Michel Platini who was detained over alleged corruption this week…
There was a familiar look to Steven Gerrard’s team despite a raft of new signings, with Ojo and Jordan Jones the only starting players that joined this summer.
Barisic looks to have been given a fresh opportunity in Gerrard’s team after a difficult debut campaign at Ibrox that was hampered by injury and fitness problems, prompting criticism from his manager.
The 26-year-old left-back was one of the stand-out performers in the eyes of fans against St Joseph’s though, not only netting a free-kick but also providing the cross for Jack to volley home.

Glad to see Borna Barišić have such an impact. Stats highlighted how impactful he was in the build-up play last season, being among the league leaders in per 90 rates for Key Passes, Secondary Shot Assists, Establishing Passes (the 3rd shot assist), & Scoring Chance Key Passes.
