Rangers fans laud Daniel Candeias after reaching 50 appearances for the season

Daniel Candeias was left on the substitutes bench last weekend as Rangers took on Hibernian at Ibrox, but the winger was introduced into proceedings at half-time.

The 31-year-old stepped onto the field to make his 50th appearance of the season, a fact which underlines his importance to Steven Gerrard during his maiden campaign.

And the player spoke of his pride on Twitter after reaching a notable landmark, prompting gushing praise from the Gers faithful.

Indeed, the fans turned out in their numbers to congratulate and praise Candeias’ achievement.

His contract is due to expire in June 2020 and that could force the club to cash in on him during the summer window while he still retains any sort of resale value, and one fan expressed his hope that he will pen new terms at Ibrox.

The Portuguese man has managed to score 6 goals and provide 12 assists so far this season, providing a touch of creative quality from the flanks and, if the response to his tweet is anything to go by, it seems his contribution has been thoroughly appreciated on the terraces.

Here’s what the Rangers fans had to say about Candeias after he reached a half century of appearances for the campaign…
