Rangers fans love Gerrard’s transfer comments

Loads of Rangers fans have been reacting to Steven Gerrard’s brilliant “warning” to his players, and they’re absolutely loving the gaffer’s no-nonsense approach.

Gerrard certainly didn’t hide his intentions at his press conference this week, as the boss intervened to answer a difficult question aimed at Jordan Rossiter.

The boss brought in a huge number of players this summer, and while most of them have been very successful, the Gers are still lacking that genuine piece of quality in the final third.

Gerrard warned players he could dip into the January transfer market after the blunt attacking display in Sunday’s semi-final display, and he was quick to intervene when the press asked Rossiter about the effects of the manager’s earlier comments.

“I’ll answer that, it’s a warning,” Gerrard said. “It’s for me that not him, he’s been injured for two years.

“At a big club, you expect big players to step up on big occasions and provide big moments.

“If that doesn’t happen, at any big club, the manager and the recruitment [staff] find better players or players who will do that.

“No manager is going to tell you their targets. But I think this club has had scouts from day one and will always have scouts because we want to be competitive on all fronts.”

Rossiter certainly looked relieved to not have to answer the question, and fans are absolutely loving Gerrard’s comments.

The boss is beginning to prove he brings the same approach to managing the Gers as he did to captaining Liverpool, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
