Rangers moved to within six points of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hearts 2-0 at Ibrox thanks to goals from Jamie Murphy and Russell Martin.

With the Hoops travelling to play Aberdeen on Sunday, it was the perfect chance to put more pressure on Brendan Rodgers' outfit before that match and the Light Blues delivered.

Graeme Murty's side produced an accomplished performance to see off a determined Hearts side, who battled hard to get ahead in the first half before Murphy's opening goal allowed Rangers to take control.

Murphy was an outstanding attacking presence throughout and with his goal took his direct goal contribution over his last three matches to eight, composed of three goals and five assists.

He's hitting top form at the perfect time and supporters will be hoping he can maintain that level of performance in the closing stages of the season.
