Filip Helander started the 1-0 win over Derby County this weekend, and Rangers fans have had their say on his display after a quiet afternoon.

The Swede made his first start for the Gers in Sunday's win over English Championship side Derby, playing for just over an hour.

The central defender had previously made his debut, playing half an hour against Blackburn in a 1-1 draw.

And he had a comfortable afternoon, leading to the Ibrox faithful being slightly reserved in their judgement of his full debut.

Brought in from Bologna, his first start came in a game where he and Nikola Katic's busiest spells were in Derby's box, not Rangers', as both towering centre-backs looked a threat at set pieces.

The former Malmo defender arrived at the club this summer for a fee of £3.5m, a fee big enough that you would expect him to nail down a starting place once the season really kicks into gear.

Yesterday's match against Phillip Cocu's men was a defender's dream though, with the Evening Times even reporting that: "Derby struggled to create anything of note."

Here's what the fans had to say about Helander's performance after an easy 60 minutes at Ibrox on Twitter:
