Rangers youngster Josh McPake has joined Championship side Dundee on loan until January, and his parent club's fans are excited about their wonderkid heading to Dens Park.

Steven Gerrard had left McPake's future up to the 17 year-old to decide himself, with many clubs interested in the youngster, per Football Insider.

And after choosing the Championship side, the Gers Academy Player of the Year can get game time at a decent level in a side that should be chasing promotion back to the top flight this campaign.

It's safe to say a lot is expected of McPake at Ibrox, particularly after he impressed on his debut in the Europa League. The winger came off the bench in the 6-0 demolition of St. Joseph's in the first round of qualification, and looked bright in his 24-minute cameo.

The supporters are buzzing to see the youngster head out on loan to a club like Dundee, who have given youth a chance this season. Many expect he will make further progress in the second tier and come back to Gerrard's side ready to break into the first-team.
