Josh McPake made his Rangers debut against St. Joseph’s on Thursday and the supporters are ecstatic after seeing one of their own make their mark.
The tricky midfielder came on with the match, and the tie, already won with the score at 4-0 to the Gers. Joe Aribo opened the scoring early on, before Jermain Defoe scored twice having replaced hat-trick hero Alfredo Morelos to secure a comfortable 6-0 victory.
McPake signed a new three-year deal to stay at Ibrox earlier this month and hasn’t had to wait long for a taste of first-team action.
He entered the game in the 67th minute, and the fans weren’t disappointed with what they saw from the 17-year-old.
The youngster also got a run-out during the friendly demolition of Marseille, as he was part of Steven Gerrard’s side that triumphed 4-0 over the French outfit.
The midfielder will hope he continues to get chances in Gerrard’s side across the season, and the Twitter reactions down below are certainly expecting big things…
