Alfredo Morelos’ future has been a huge talking point this summer, but Rangers supporters were quick to rubbish rumours of him making a shock last-minute departure to China.
The Colombian was linked with a move to Hebei China Fortune in the dying embers of the Chinese transfer window on Wednesday, with Sky Sports claiming he turned down a contract offer worth £30m.
The deal would’ve seen the Gers bank a fee in excess of £15m, with the striker joining the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Mascherano at the CSL club, but no official bid was made.
Given the last-minute nature of the deal – the rumour was circulated with just a few hours left of the Chinese window – the Rangers fans were sceptical.
And their cynicism was proven correct as Steven Gerrard clarified the situation, stating he was unaware of any bids for his 30-goal forward ahead of the Progres Niederkorn second leg, as reported by The Daily Record.
The Gers’ supporters have had their say on Twitter, and you can find some of the best reactions down below:

Think his agent has leaked* this to try to drum up interest in him from big money clubs. The agent will be looking for his big commission however he can get it.

Maybe he just has absolutely no desire to go to China. Maybe he’s more sensible than some of us give him credit for! Go to China and be forgotten…
