It's fair to say that Rangers supporters are far from happy with the SFA and haven't been for quite some time.

The SFA recently hit the Gers with four disciplinary charges relating to incidents involving first team coaches Tom Culshaw and Michael Beale, who were involved in touchline altercations against Hibernian and Celtic last year.

The length of time it took for the governing body to act left Gerrard feeling "a bit surprised", while the club have issued a statement suggesting Rangers' actions are being judged independently from the rest of the SPFL.

In a statement published on the club's official website on Saturday, it was suggested that the SFA are unjustly taking a harder stance with the Ibrox outfit.

"It is concerning that it seems the governing body is seeking to hold Rangers to a different and more stringent code of conduct than that applied to others, with unprecedented charges being levied against the Club.

"Rangers fans can be assured that it is our firm intention to resist the charges in the most robust manner possible. Rangers will make further comment after the weekend."

It's the type of explicit criticism of a major footballing governing body that is rarely seen in the modern game, and fans of the club were certainly enthused by the staunch defence.

In response to the statement, fans showed their appreciation through a variety of GIFs.

Not everybody reverted to utilising one of social media's favourite tools, and others simply used their keyboards to respond to the statement.

One fan suggested that there are strong undertones of bias against the club, while others were simply pleased to see the club standing up for themselves in the public eye.

Finally, another hinted towards a potential biased agenda within the governing body and suggested the sanctions will only intensify if the club manage to pip Celtic to the SPFL title this season.
