Rangers and dropping points. It's been an all too frequent occurrence lately, and their latest mishap has made Steven Gerrard's task of clinching silverware this season all that harder.

They were held at St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon after Stevie May's 80th-minute strike nabbed a point.

Callum Hendry had opened the scoring for the home side, but the Gers came from behind and looked likely to take a victory back to Ibrox.

It was the impact of super-substitute Florian Kamberi that swung the game in their favour, and fans have been lauding his display on social media.

He scored the equaliser with a sublime volley before turning provider, setting up Joe Aribo for Rangers' second.

Here's what fans have been saying...

There were plenty of superlatives used to describe the 24-year-old's performance, including "outstanding," "fantastic" and "superb" while one supporter claimed he was "different gravy" as the energy he brings to the side is something else.

It has led to others suggesting that he should be starting every week, particularly in the Scottish Premiership as he's already in line to replace the suspended Alfredo Morelos against Braga later this week.

Which is why fans have been comparing their two striking options - Jermaine Defoe still remains on the sidelines through injury.

One member of the Gers faithful believed the Swiss-born forward was "far superior" than Morelos while another believed he should definitely be starting ahead of him over the next few games.

Although, a further supporter took a different view and suggested that the Colombian would "prosper" playing alongside the 6 foot 4 Hibs loanee.

There were even glowing comparisons made - the first to former Rangers frontman Sone Aluko, who enjoyed a goal-laden one-year spell at Ibrox, scoring 12 times in 23 appearances; the best return of his career at any club, per Transfermarkt.

Another provided a throwback to Michael Mols, who won the league twice during his time at Rangers.

Where is he from?! Can you name which obscure countries these famous players have represented?

We'll surely get another taste of Kamberi this week, and if he performs, then he's surely in line for another shot under Gerrard going forward.
