Joe Worrall has said goodbye to Rangers on social media today, all but confirming he won't be back in Glasgow next season.

It was of course known that the central defender was only at Ibrox for the season but it was unknown whether Steven Gerrard was impressed enough to make another loan or permanent move.

Of course, Worrall's exit means the manager's transfer priorities become a little clearer heading into the busy summer period, with a first-team defender now needed to compete for places with Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic.

With Gareth MacAuley's contract also expiring this summer, the Ibrox side could even be looking for two centre-backs capable of competing at Scottish Premiership level.

Worrall will now look to solidify a first-team place at Nottingham Forest and although he's definitely shown inconsistent form at Rangers throughout the season, supporters gave him a warm farewell on social media earlier today, with many saying he's always welcome back one day...
