New Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been busy in the transfer window this summer.

The former Liverpool captain has essentially recruited enough players to field a whole new team.

However, with the transfer window still ticking along, more deals can be struck.

On Monday, Rangers announced via the club's official website that Lee Hodson has moved on to join St Mirren on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old full-back has not made the biggest impact at Ibrox since his switch to the club from MK Dons in 2016.

Last season, Hodson started just seven matches, and Gerrard has made it clear in the early stages of the season that the Northern Ireland international will not play a major role.

Hodson has not played a single minute of competitive action for the Gers since the 2o18-19 campaign kicked off.

After the news of his loan departure was announced, some Rangers fans expressed joy on Twitter while others were critical of Gerrard's decision.
