Rangers could be sending midfield prospect Ross McCrorie out on loan next season, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

Manager Steven Gerrard is set to have conversations with the player about his role in the first-team squad at Ibrox next term, suggesting that he won't be a regular go-to pick after strengthening of the squad during this summer's transfer window.

Rangers have made seven signings so far, with the addition of Joe Aribo sure to ramp up competition in the middle of the park.

McCrorie made 31 appearances for the club last term, but only 16 of those were starts.

Now 21 years of age, he needs regular action on a week-to-week basis to develop and progress as a player.

For Rangers fans though he remains a player with exciting potential and some feel he'd be better served staying at Ibrox next season and getting the games under Gerrard.
