Rangers produced a battling performance to hold Celtic to a 0-0 draw on Saturday, avoiding a defeat that was expected by many prior to kick-off.

Brendan Rodgers had won every match but one against the Light Blues prior to yesterday's derby, but again Graeme Murty inspired the kind of performance that Rangers supporters can be proud of against Celtic, frustrating the Scottish champions on their own patch.

Both sides had chances to win the game and in the second half Rangers actually had the better of the opportunities that on another day could have secured a famous derby victory.

Supporters were delighted with the display and had particular praise for winger Daniel Candeias, whose hard work gave the Light Blues an excellent attacking outlet all day, also nullifying the threat of Celtic's attacking full-back Kieran Tierney.

Not all of Pedro Caixinha's summer signings have quite worked out, but Candeias is one that fans are certainly happy with so far this season.

They took to Twitter to share their thoughts on his performance...
