Rangers are interested in signing Akhmat Grozny defender and World Cup sensation Milad Mohammadi according to The Scottish Sun.
The 24-year-old left-back joined the Russian Premier League club in 2016 and has gone on to make 50 appearances for the club, scoring twice.
The Iranian star came to global prominence after he attempted an audacious roly-poly throw-in against Spain in the final minute of their World Cup group match when 1-0 down, and failed rather spectacularly.
Now according to the report, Rangers are interested in signing the viral sensation and it is believed a fee of £3million could bring the star to the Ibrox next season.
Although it will be hard to escape Mohammadi’s hilarious throw-in, it’s worth remembering that he is a very decent player.
He can also play as a right-back or on either wing so would be a versatile player to have in the squad, although these are areas which Steven Gerrard don’t need to strengthen desperately.
In any case, it would be great if we could see more of the throw-in specialist at the Ibrox, and his arrival would surely seal the fate of Lee Wallace, who has just one year remaining on his contract and is involved in a bitter dispute with the club.
