On-loan Rangers winger Ryan Kent looks set to face a big battle to reclaim his spot in the starting XI when he returns from injury.
The 22-year-old moved to Ibrox from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal during the summer transfer window, and in his first few months for the Scottish Premiership giants he quickly become an Ibrox favourite and drew praise from supporters on Twitter, and it seemed as though he was un-droppable.
However the Oldham-born player, who has scored three goals and provided a further two assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for Steven Gerrard’s men so far this term, is currently suffering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the previous two clashes against Spartak Moscow and Motherwell.
While the former ended in a disappointing 4-3 defeat in the Europa League, wingers Daniel Candeias and Glenn Middleton impressed, before the latter and Eros Grezda shone in the 7-1 thrashing of Motherwell next time out with the former suspended.
The Playmaker FC squad decided to wind-up some unsuspecting Brazil fans at the Emirates on Saturday night. Watch the hilarious results in the video below…
Like Nikola Katic before him who was a regular at the heart of the defence before finding starts and first-team minutes in general hard to come by in more recent times, the same fate could be suffered by Kent if the aforementioned wing trio maintain their fine form.
We asked Rangers fans to vote on our poll to tell us whether they think the 22-year-old should reclaim his spot in the starting XI straightaway, and a slight majority 52% surprisingly believe that he shouldn’t as you can see from the results below.
