Revealed: 60% of Rangers fans want Tavernier sold in January

Loads of Rangers fans have been discussing the poor form of captain James Tavernier, and a surprising 60 per cent of fans want to sell the defender in January.

Rangers had plenty of players underperforming during their poor patch of form a couple of weeks ago, but most of the blame went on Tavernier’s shoulders.

A couple of disappointing draws either side of a devastating League Cup semi-final defeat preceded the defensive catastrophe in Moscow, and fans expected more from the skipper.

While his goal tally is still on the rise thanks to free kicks and penalties, his attacking play has been hugely underwhelming this season, and his defending has been even worse.

Rangers rejected an offer from West Brom for the 26 year-old this summer, and fans now want the Gers to do the opposite in January.

Gerrard is clearly a big fan of the flying full back, as he handed him the armband almost immediately on arrival, but selling him to West Brom or even the Premier League would raise funds for the new signings the gaffer is craving.
