Alberto Moreno is expected to leave Liverpool in 2019, and nearly two-thirds of Rangers fans think Steven Gerrard should make a move for his former teammate.

According to Neil Jones from GOAL.com, Liverpool will allow Moreno’s contract to expire next summer.

The Reds expect to use academy product Adam Lewis to provide support for Andy Robertson, meaning Moreno is free to leave to his preferred destination.

Gerrard has already shown he is not afraid to go back to his old club for new players, and the Rangers boss could pull off another masterstroke by signing the 26 year-old.

The flying left back has excellent pace, a rocket of a left foot, and is a great personality to have amongst the team. His Europa League winning experience could also be a huge boost for this relatively young Rangers squad.

Moreno has often been criticised for his lack of defensive ability, though he was in great form last season before an injury allowed Robertson to step in and take over.

The one stumbling block would probably be wages, although after a full season of sitting on the bench he may just jump at the opportunity to play 90 minutes every week under a Liverpool legend.
