According to our recent poll, the majority of Rangers fans want boss Steven Gerrard to raid his former club Liverpool once again to sign promising young left-back Adam Lewis on loan in January.
The Express reports that although Rangers announced losses of £14m recently, there will be funds available for Gerrard to add to his squad either with loans or permanent deals in the winter transfer window, and a defender is a target.
Two of the 15 summer signings that Gerrard made when taking over at Rangers were loan deals from the Liverpool U23 team, with Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria making the move to Glasgow having worked under Gerrard in the Reds’ youth set-up.
Rangers fans are clearly keen for another too as 67 per cent of those who responded to our poll wanted Gerrard to target Lewis. The 18-year-old has played 12 games for Liverpool’s U23 side so far this season, scoring one goal and providing an impressive five assists from an attacking left-back role, although he is yet to make his first-team debut for the club and could be in need of a winter loan move.
