A large majority of the Rangers fans that answered our recent poll were keen for Steven Gerrard to put aside his former rivalries and target Manchester United starlet Tahith Chong on loan in January.

The Gers are currently sat in third place in both the Scottish Premier League and their Europa League group, so Gerrard will be hoping to use the winter transfer window to add a little more quality to his side in order to take them to that next level.

According to our poll, 74 per cent of Rangers fans felt that Chong had the ability to do this. The 18-year-old winger is yet to make his debut for the Red Devils despite Jose Mourinho being a big fan of his, but he has netted five goals and provided two assists in 12 games for the U23 side so far this season.

Despite his young age and the quality in the United squad, Chong has also been included on the bench for the first-team by Mourinho this season, most notably in the clash with Juventus in the Champions League at Old Trafford.

Gerrard’s past relationship with Manchester United and strong ties with Liverpool could slow down any deal, but it's clear that this is one loan that Gers fans would love to see.
