A huge majority of the Rangers fans that answered our recent poll want Daniel Candeias to start the Europa League clash with Spartak Moscow, after his introduction seemed to change the game in the Gers win over St Mirren on the weekend.
Steven Gerrard started with Eros Grezda and Liverpool loanee Ryan Kent on either wing at St Mirren Park last weekend, but Candeias provided the injection of extra quality that was needed when he came off the bench.
The 30-year-old was brought on in the 55th minute for Grezda and, with 10 minutes to go, the 5ft 10in ace hit an unstoppable shot that dipped over keeper Craig Samson and broke the deadlock.
His exuberant celebrations with the Gers fans earned him a yellow card though and, after Alfredo Morelos made the result safe in the 92nd minute, Candeias was shown a second yellow and sent off for seemingly no apparent reason, although the appeal was recently rejected.
97 per cent of the Rangers fans that answered our poll still wanted him to start in the Europa League clash though, where Gerrard’s team will look to extend their lead at the top of Group G. Check out the full results below.
