As reported by The Express, new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is interested in bringing Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent to Ibrox on loan this summer.

What's the story?

Transfer links between Gerrard's Rangers and Liverpool are going to be plentiful all summer, or at least until he signs one or two of their prospects, but Ryan Kent is one of the newer names connected with a loan move to the club.

The Express report he is one of three Reds options that are interesting to Steven Gerrard, alongside Ben Woodburn and Harry Wilson.

The player, who is rated at £1.35m by Transfermarkt, has more first-team experience than both, which could be a benefit in dealing with what will be a high-pressure situation at Ibrox next season.

Who is he?

Now 21 years old, Kent has made just one appearance for Liverpool's senior side, which came in a 2016 FA Cup match against Exeter City.

He's spent much of the last couple of years out on loan, getting a full season in the Championship under his belt at Barsnley in 2016/17 before spending half a season on loan at Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.

Most recently he has been out on loan again in the English second-tier, this time at Bristol City.

A player who plays predominately on the left wing, if he does arrive at Ibrox he would likely be cover for Jamie Murphy, also able to fill in at right wing behind Daniel Candeias.

He may not be as talented as some of the other youngsters linked with a move to Rangers, such as Ben Woodburn or Harry Wilson, but he still offers plenty and under Gerrard could improve even further.
