The Guardian's Ewan Murray has tweeted his thoughts on Kris Commons' criticism of James Tavernier.

The Sky Sports pundit told the Rangers captain that "swanning around in a Lamborghini" won't make his situation at Ibrox any better for himself, having aimed fire at the former Newcastle full-back for basically admitting that Rangers buckle under pressure in his programme notes.

Commons wrote in his column for The Daily Mail (via The Scottish Sun): "If anyone else at Celtic spoke like that in public, he would come down on them like a ton of bricks. For Tavernier to be swanning around in a Lamborghini just makes it all look worse.

"He can't handle the heat, yet he's driving around in the Batmobile as if he's some kind of big shot."

Now, quite why Commons felt required to bring Tavernier's choice of car into things is a mystery - it makes his criticism of the Rangers captain seem foolish and personal, rather than being an actual assessment of the situation.

It also makes the credibility of his words become weaker, and The Guardian's Murray has reacted to the situation with a tweet containing two words which make Commons' ludicrous claim look even more mindless.

Murray described the attack on Tavernier as "incredibly silly" while having more to say on the matter, which you can see below:
