Three reasons Hibs pose even more of a challenge to Rangers than Aberdeen did

We’ve barely taken a breath from the weekend’s frantic Scottish Premiership actions but the matches come thick and fast on Wednesday night with four fixtures to look forward to. The star attraction is undoubtedly Rangers’ trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian, with both teams vying to keep pace with Celtic at the top of the table.

Much has been made of the rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers in recent seasons but in many ways it pales in comparison to the heated drama that seems to accompany the Light Blues’ encounters with the Hibees.

What’s more, the re-introduction of the Leith side into the top-flight has added a new dimension to the top end of the table, with Hibs apparently every bit as capable as producing the form needed to be in the mix for that second spot behind the Hoops.

Rangers did well to navigate a difficult double header against Aberdeen and deserve credit, but Wednesday night promises to be even more difficult.
