Milan are currently in dire need of some reinforcements.

The Rossoneri's season is not really going according to plan and Stefano Pioli is having a lot of trouble steadying a sinking ship. Milan are sitting in 11th place in the table and with only two wins in the last seven games, things are certainly not looking good.

And a lot of that definitely has to do with their deficiencies in front of goal.

They have only managed to score 13 goals in 14 games in Serie A so far and their strikers are obviously not firing on all cylinders. Both Krzysztof Piatek and Rafael Leao are young and could still improve but their tallies of three and one strikes respectively are simply not enough for them to start a revolution in the squad.

Interestingly enough, they were recently linked with Chelsea's outcast, Olivier Giroud, who is looking to leave the club in January, as per reports coming from Calciomercato.

The veteran has fallen behind in the pecking order and is not really being used by Frank Lampard in the ongoing 2019/20 campaign with just 282 minutes under his belt across all competitions.

And if the same source is to be believed, Milan are currently not really interested in the forward as they have some other priorities, but Chelsea have put the player on the table nonetheless.

Seeing how his fortune at Chelsea is not really looking like it could change for the better, with both Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi preferred by the coach, his aspiration to leave Stamford Bridge is pretty warranted.

Especially with the 2020 European Championship with France edging ever closer.

And from Milan's point of view, Giroud could definitely represent that missing link in their attack and they shouldn't be so picky in their approach.

With Piatek only 24 and Leao 20, they are aching for some experience and proven goal-scoring abilities in that forward line and the Frenchman has both at his disposal.

We're talking here about a man who managed to bang in 105 goals in 253 games for Arsenal, 19 goals in 70 appearances for Chelsea and even 37 in 94 caps for France, winning the World Cup in Russia as well.

Maybe it would be in Pioli's best interest if the club change their stance and swoop in for Giroud in January.

Let's see what they end up doing.
