Gabriel Barbosa's adventure at Inter Milan has truly been troublesome thus far.

The now 23-year-old Brazilian arrived in Italy back in 2017 but has only played ten games for them ever since, scoring one goal in the process.

Of course, with the Nerazzurri sending him on loan after loan, this doesn't really come as a surprise at all.

And just recently, the player spoke about his compatriot, Roberto Firmino, and hinted that he would love to play for Liverpool one day, alongside his friend from Brazil. He said:

"Firmino is great, I really admire him. He’s been successful for many years in Europe. It would be a pleasure to play with him. Maybe we could team up for Brazil in the future and Liverpool is a team that everyone wants to play for."

Of course, at the moment, there's nothing out there to indicate Barbosa could actually be going to Anfield any time soon but this should be a warning to Inter, who still own the player despite him currently playing for Flamengo.

Even though he didn't seem like a superstar in making back during his first spells with the Nerazzurri, Gabigol is very much turning into one with each passing day.

The 23-year-old centre-forward has managed to tally 34 goals in 41 appearances for his current club, assisting a further 11 in the process as well.

Not to mention that it was his stoppage-time brace that got Flamengo their Copa Libertadores crown, which means that he's also becoming a clutch player in his own right.

With four shots, one key pass and 1.3 dribbles per game, he also seems to be a dominant force up front and someone Inter should not forget about that easily.

The fact that they still haven't sold him permanently could indicate that they're banking on the player to become a much bigger star in the future.

If these early signs are anything to go by, he might be heading exactly down the right path.

But in that case, his wish to go to Liverpool might also become much more feasible than it is now.
