According to Sky In Italy via Sky Sports, Inter Milan are in talks with Napoli striker Fernando Llorente.

What's the word, then?

The veteran forward is still a fairly fresh addition at Napoli, having only arrived last summer and so far mustered a total of 23 appearances during his stay in 2019/20, bagging four goals in the process.

And now, Antonio Conte would like to take him on a 18-month loan deal, if Sky in Italy are to be believed, which would also end the Nerazzurri's interest in Chelsea's Olivier Giroud.

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

The deal would see Inter winger Matteo Politano head in the opposite direction on an 18-month loan deal as well, but this would come with an obligation to buy for £21.1m.

Verdict

Even though the Nerazzurri have the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez leading the line, it seems that Conte definitely fancies having another reliable backup option.

And judging by both his current and past endeavours, Llorente could be exactly what the Italian gaffer is looking for.

Aged 34, he's not the youngest but with that comes experience and proven goal-scoring ability, as evidenced from his long track record with former clubs.

The Spanish international scored 13 goals with Spurs, 27 with Juventus and an incredible 111 with Athletic Bilbao, proving his worth across Europe and in various different leagues.

That highlights Llorente's pedigree and having even played under Conte at Juve, it seems like a bit of a no-brainer for Inter.

Meanwhile, one of Spurs' big transfer targets could be an instant upgrade on Serge Aurier...
