Man United join Spurs and Everton in race for Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino

According to a new report from Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Manchester United could be the next Premier League club in line to ask about the availability of Inter Milan’s Matias Vecino.

What’s the word, then?

It seems that the 28-year-old Nerazzurri man is quite the wanted prospect on the transfer market this January, as the same source mentions Man United could be third English outfit to take interest in the player.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have been linked with Vecino and since the Red Devils’ search for midfield reinforcements is no secret, as Sport Witness explain, it really was just a matter of time before the midfielder was linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Quickfire Quiz: How much do you know about Man Utd’s history in the January transfer window?

By what method did Juan Mata arrive at Manchester United to complete his January transfer from Chelsea?

Unfortunately, Gazzetta dello Sport don’t mention any potential figures to be involved in this reported deal but a previous report from Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) suggests he could be valued at around €20m (£17m).

Verdict

Vecino really is in a peculiar situation under Antonio Conte back in Italy.

Even though he is constantly being linked with the exit door, as Sport Witness mention, he still seems to be a regular part of Inter’s squad, managing to feature in 17 games across all competitions in 2019/20.

Would Vecino be a good addition for Spurs?

Yeah, absolutely!

Yeah, absolutely!

No way!

No way!

Not to mention that he started seven games in a row in Serie A between November and January, which could put the Nerazzurri’s decision to let him go that easily under question.

But that’s exactly what seems to be happening and his departure has been a major talking point throughout the window.

Still, if they are truly willing to move him on, so much interest from the lucrative Premier League is definitely music to the Nerazzurri’s ears. Indeed, the more clubs that are linked, the higher the chance a bidding war will commence.

Let’s wait and see what ends up happening.

In other news, Inter Milan have reportedly rejected an offer from both Barcelona and Manchester City for their young prodigy
