Juventus are a force to be reckoned with back in Italy.

Serie A is well and truly their playground as the Bianconeri have managed to clinch every single title going back eight seasons, and have 35 throughout their history in total.

By all means, that is an impressive tally, even for their high standards.

But for all their pedigree and clear aspirations, Juventus have not managed to secure a Champions League crown since 1995/96. They've been close, of course, with the squad reaching two finals with Massimiliano Allegri at the helm in the last couple of years, but they never crossed the finish line.

That was actually one of the reasons why they brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who needs no introduction and is a proven winner both on a domestic and European stage.

But the Portuguese star is now on the wrong side of his 30s and Juventus should look to maximise his last years at the very top.

For that very reason, links with players like Manchester United's Tahith Chong, as reported by Metro at the weekend, are quite surprising.

And yes, as the same source explains, the Bianconeri are known for their ability to snatch up players whose contracts are soon to run out and seeing how the 19-year-old ace is one of them and certainly has talent, it does seem like a good opportunity.

But while those kinds of transfers will give them some sort of bet for the future, Maurizio Sarri's men need something for right here and right now.

Of course, if they manage to get the teenager for free then they should, but their focus should be on building a squad that can get the best out of their veterans like Ronaldo so they can make that final push for European glory while the team is still stacked with superstars.

Chong is only 19 and the talent is certainly there but he should not be the focus of Juve's transfer window.

Snatching up high-potential players is something big clubs always do but for once, they should strive to build a team for right here and right now as opposed to building one for the future.
